When it formed
Tens of millions of years ago, a specific combination of conditions came together in one particular region. Freshwater layers and oceanic sediment layers settled on top of each other repeatedly over millions of years. Massive prehistoric plants grew through this material, pushing their roots deep into the earth to pull up minerals that modern plants no longer reach. Life cycles repeated undisturbed for timescales that are difficult to imagine. What was left behind, eventually, was soil that had become something else entirely.
How it was preserved
The mineral matrix formed in that period was eventually sealed underground by a natural protective geological layer. That protection is the reason the original mineral and organic acid profile survived largely intact into the present day. Most commercial fulvic compounds on the market today are extracted from much younger and more exposed sources: lignite, leonardite, peat which do not carry the same ancient profile. The deposit B.E.N. Minerals draws from is categorically older and categorically rarer.
Why this matters
The ancient mineral matrix we extract carries a profile that cannot be synthesized. It cannot be built in a lab from individual components. It cannot be reverse-engineered from a chemical formula. That is not a marketing claim, it is a consequence of how the matrix was formed. When you compress millions of years of freshwater layers, oceanic sediment, prehistoric plant cycles, and natural geological sealing into one complex matrix, you get something that modern chemistry cannot assemble from scratch. It is not the kind of ingredient that shows up in most supplements. It is not the kind of thing most brands in the category have access to. And it is the foundation of what goes into every bottle of B.E.N. Minerals.
